The Giredmet Institute and the Indian company ALT METALS Private Limited have signed a contract to establish pilot production of titanium sponge.

The agreement provides for the supply of laboratory equipment for the production of metal that can be used in aviation and space technology, shipbuilding, the chemical and oil and gas industries, as well as in medicine.

The Giredmet Institute (the Chemical Technological Cluster of the Scientific Division of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) and the Indian company ALT METALS Private Limited signed a contract to carry out work on the establishment of pilot production of titanium sponge during the exhibition "Innoprom.India", which was held in India. The document was signed by Andrey Goliney, Director of the Chemical Technological Cluster of Rosatom Science JSC – the managing organization of Giredmet JSC, and Mr. Anjani Sri Murtya Sunkavali, Founder and CEO of ALT METALS Private Limited.

The agreement is aimed at developing cooperation between Russian and Indian specialists in the field of deep processing of mineral raw materials and provides for the supply of laboratory equipment for the production of titanium sponge.

“We are talking about developing initial data for designing industrial production of titanium sponge with a capacity of 1000 tons per year. As part of the first stage, we will conduct a study of the customer’s raw materials, carry out laboratory tests, manufacture and supply a set of laboratory equipment, and also provide supervision during installation, commissioning, and staff training. We are interested in scaling the technology to an industrial level with further integration into the Indian industry,” emphasized Andrey Goliney.
