The organizer of the RAREMET International Congress, the Giredmet Institute, joined the Association of Producers and Consumers of Rare and Rare-Earth Metals

Joint work will accelerate the implementation of projects to create closed technological chains, from ore to functional materials.
The Giredmet Institute (the organizer of the RAREMET International Congress) became a member of the Association of Producers and Consumers of Rare and Rare-Earth Metals. The decision to join the institute was made as part of the development of cooperation between scientific, educational, mining, manufacturing, engineering and other organizations of the rare metal industry.
The RM and REM Association unites leading enterprises, scientific organizations and industry experts. It acts as a key platform for developing consolidated solutions for the development of production and consumption of rare and rare earth metals in Russia, participates in shaping the professional agenda, developing cooperation and promoting strategic initiatives in the field of mining, processing and application of RM and REM.
"For Giredmet, joining the RM and REM Association is a step that strengthens our potential as an integrator of competencies in the field of rare and rare earth metals. We see this partnership as an opportunity to coordinate efforts more effectively with mining and processing enterprises, as well as with consumers of our products. I am belive that working together will accelerate the implementation of projects to create closed technological chains – from ore to functional materials for electronics, energy, transport and other industries," said Andrey Goliney, Director of the Chemical technology unit of JSC Rosatom Nauka, the managing organization of JSC Giredmet.
The Institute's joining the Association was a logical continuation of many years of cooperation. In May 2026, the Association became a co-organizer of the International Congress on Rare Metals, Materials and Technologies RAREMET-2026, organized by Giredmet JSC. It is also symbolic that joining the Association took place on the eve of the 95th anniversary of the Giredmet Institute, the scientific and technological founder of the RM and REM industry.

The N. P. Sazhin State Scientific Research and Design Institute of the Rare Metal Industry Giredmet is one of the leading scientific research organizations of the materials science profile of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. The Institute was founded in 1931. It covers a full cycle: from the development of methods for processing ores containing rare and rare earth metals to the production of high-purity substances, single crystals and finished products for the electronic, nuclear, aviation, and space industries. The Association of Producers and Consumers of Rare and Rare‑Earth Metals is a non‑profit organization established in 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the state corporation Rosatom. It unites more than twenty participants, including leading enterprises in the industry, as well as scientific and educational organizations. The Association performs the functions of the Competence Center for the product line “Rare and Rare‑Earth Metals” within the roadmap “Technologies of New Materials and Substances”. Key areas of activity: promoting industry initiatives, improving the regulatory framework and support measures, coordinating projects, market analysis, and interaction with government bodies. Since 2024, the Association has been a member of the Coordination Council for Industrial Policy in the Metallurgical Complex under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Public Expert Council of the “New Materials and Chemistry” national project. It participates in the development of the federal project “Development of the Rare and Rare‑Earth Metals Industry”.
