The N.S. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences has become a co-organizer of the RAREMET-2026 International Congress

The Institute of JSC "Giredmet" named after N.P. Sazhin, the organizer of the International Congress on Rare Metals, Materials and Technologies "RAREMET-2026", announces the expansion of the co-organizers of the event. The N.S. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IONKH RAS) has joined the key partners in the preparation and holding of the Congress.

This decision reflects the strategic importance of consolidating the efforts of the country's leading scientific schools for the integrated development of the rare metal industry. IONKH RAS, being one of the flagships of fundamental chemistry, chemical materials science and chemical technology in Russia, has unique competencies in the field of chemistry and technology of rare and rare-earth metals, as well as the creation of materials based on them. The participation of IONKH RAS in the organization and holding of the congress events will make it possible to organize a constructive, scientifically based dialogue on topical issues of the development of chemistry of compounds based on rare and rare earth metals, the creation of new materials and the introduction of modern high-tech chemical technologies.

"We are pleased to welcome the N.S. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences as a full-fledged co-organizer of the Congress. This is a logical step that strengthens the link between academic science, industry and industry. Fundamental research conducted by scientists of the IONKH RAS in the field of chemistry of rare elements, separation, synthesis of new compounds and creation of functional materials is absolutely critical for a technological breakthrough. Our partnership will provide the synergy necessary to form an integrated chain: from idea to implementation," said Andrey Goliney, Director of the Chemical Technology Unit of Rosatom Science JSC, the managing organization of Giredmet JSC, co-chairman of the RAREMET–2026 organizing committee.

"The participation of IONKH RAS in the organization of the RAREMET-2026 Congress is an opportunity to directly integrate our developments into solving urgent industrial problems. Today, the speed of translating scientific results into practical technologies is more important than ever, especially in a field as sensitive to global challenges as rare and rare earth metals. We expect that the Congress will become an effective platform for dialogue, allowing us to coordinate research and focus it on key areas, such as the creation of new highly effective extractants, deep purification methods, functional materials and resource-saving chemical and technological solutions," said Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry. N.S. Kurnakova RAS, Co-chairman of the organizing committee "RAREMET-2026" Andrey Voshkin.
