Today, almost 600 participants from 19 countries have registered for the International Congress on Rare Metals, Materials and Technologies RAREMET-2026. The event will be held in Moscow from May 20 to 22, 2026 at the RTU MIREA. The organizer is the Giredmet Institute.
Compared to RAREMET-2024, the geography of participants has significantly expanded. The largest foreign delegation is from India. China, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Cuba, Egypt, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Armenia, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore and the Republic of South Africa are also represented at the Congress. Participants from 19 countries are planning to participate in the Congress.
The high scientific status of the Congress is confirmed by the participants. Among them are three academicians and 11 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, more than 50 professors (including professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences, distinguished and foreign professors), 64 doctors of sciences, 133 candidates of sciences, and 12 foreign scientists with a PhD or Dr. Hab degree.
The organizers of the Congress pay special attention to the involvement of young researchers – more than 220 young scientists under the age of 35 have registered for the event, which is about 40 percent of the total number of participants. Also, 26 graduate students and applicants, 72 students (bachelors, masters, specialists) and 8 masters will be represented.
The scientific program of the Congress will include plenary and panel sessions, as well as four thematic conferences: Mineral resources of rare metals and sustainable processing technologies (RAREMET:Minerals), Metallurgy, magnetic materials, powders and composite materials based on rare metals (RAREMET:Metallurgy), Chemistry and technology of high purity substances based on rare metals (RAREMET:Chemistry), Materials based on rare metals in electronics, optics, photonics, converters and energy storage technologies (RAREMET:Functional). Special attention will be paid to new challenges: digitalization, artificial intelligence, environmental aspects and principles of circular economy in the industry.
The Congress will include thematic round tables: "Materials based on RM and REM for nuclear and high-tech medicine"; "Synchrotron radiation in research of materials based on RM and REM: from local structure and electronic states to functional properties and technologies"; "Digital design and AI-controlled synthesis of functional materials based on rare and rare earth metals", as well as an expert session "Actual problems of ensuring fire and explosion safety of technological processes using RM and REM".
The specialized exhibition RAREMET:Expo will also be held, where business representatives will be able to present the technologies, equipment and services. Intergovernmental meetings (G2G) and a press-conference are also planned.
