Most foreign delegates must have visa to travel to Russia. The easiest option is to get a unified e‑visa (electronic visa), without visiting a consulate in person.
1. Unified e‑visa (main option)- The unified e‑visa allows a single entry to the Russian Federation and is valid for travel for tourism, business, and participation in conferences.
- It is issued online only, via the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (
https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/index_en.html ) or the official mobile application. RAREMET-2026 delegates are advised to check the current list of countries eligible for the unified e‑visa and detailed requirements on the website.
- The application can usually be submitted not earlier than 86 days and not later than 4 days before the intended date of entry to Russia.
- The e‑visa is valid for 120 days from the date of issue; the permitted stay in Russia is up to 30 days from the date of entry.
2. Documents and support from the Organizing Committee
For the unified e‑visa application, the Organizing Committee can provide an official invitation letter confirming your participation in the congress. This letter can be used as supporting documentation when you complete your online e‑visa form (purpose of visit: participation in a conference / business visit).
2. Special business visa supported by ROSATOM (sticker visa in passport)Delegates may also apply for a regular business visa with a visa sticker placed in the passport.
- This is a special type of business visa arranged on the basis of a direct request from the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation to the Russian Consulate indicated by the delegate.
- The Organizing Committee can provide a specially formatted invitation letter from ROSATOM, which will be used by the Consulate to issue a business visa.
- To initiate this procedure, delegates must fill in a special form that we will be send upon request. After we receive the completed form, ROSATOM will submit a direct request (telex) to the selected Consulate for visa issuance.
- The delegate will need to physically visit the selected Consulate upon getting a letter / telex from the Organising committee.
